The major difference between PVC, CPVC, UPVS and HDPE pipes is the addiition of chlorine, and the treatment offerred to Plastic
  • PVC Pipe

Short for Polyvinyl Chloride. PVC pipes are cheap, durable and good enough for most plumbing applications.

  • CPVC Pipe

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) is a thermoplastic produced by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin which is significantly more flexible and can withstand higher temperatures than standard PVC.
Hence CPVC pipes are used mostly for cold and hot water applications.

  • UPVC Pipe

Unplasticized poly (vinyl chloride) (uPVC) (Polyvinyl chloride) - uPVC, also known as rigid PVC, is extensively used in the building industry as a low-maintenance material. This system is easy to install and offers a long service life. It is used mainly for cold water application in residential, Commercial and public complexes.

  • GI pipes

GI pipes are Galvanized iron pipes. These are a type of metalic pipes. These pipes were extensively used for plumbing purposes, but are now being replaced with CPVC and UPVC pipes because of longer shelf life and corrosion issues.

  • HDPE Pipe

    High Density Polyethylene.
HDPE is stronger than PVC and the pipes can be manufactured in greater lengths and diameters.

The Advantages of using Plastic Piping (HDPE, CPVC, UPVC and PVC) over GI Pipes are as follows:
  • Lower Cost of installation
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Faster fabrication and installation
  • Insulation not required
  • Diversity of applications
The modern day plastic pipes - whether PVC, UPVC, CPVC or HDPE are used for variety of applications like
  • Cold and hot water plumbing applications
  • Industrial piping requirements where high temperatures and resistance to chemical corrossion is required like PPR pipes
  • Agricultural piping requirement
  • Heavy duty sewage and waste water applications
  • Borewell applications
  • Manhole covers
  • Rain water harvesting
